More than half a million Haitians in the United States are facing the threat of deportation in a few months, after the Trump administration revoked an extension of Temporary Protected Status that had been put in place by the Biden administration.

The Trump administration has announced it will remove temporary protected status for thousands of Haitian migrants, putting them on track for removal from the United States. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem vacated a decision made by the Biden administration to extend TPS for 18 months,

The decision is the latest in President Trump’s sweeping crackdown on immigrants, including people whom the Biden administration had authorized to remain in the country.
