A new wildfire was reported today at 6:01 p.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. Currently, there is no information on the containment of the fire and the cause of it is still undetermined.

Los Angeles County says it is suing Southern California Edison, alleging the utility’s equipment sparked January’s Eaton Fire, which destroyed more than 9,400 structures and killed 17 people in the Altadena area.

As Los Angeles recovers from historic wildfires, both previously unsheltered and chronically homeless people are facing even greater instability. Some lawmakers and providers argue now is the time to put in even more resources to maintain the progress the county and state have made in fighting the crisis.
