Lance Stroll cited “medical privacy” in refusing to discuss the specifics of the wrist injury or medical procedure that kept the Formula 1 driver from participating in the Spanish Grand Prix two weeks ago.

Aston Martin F1 star Lance Stroll has provided an update on his health ahead of his home race in Montreal. Stroll confirmed in a statement earlier this week that he would be able to take part in the Canadian Grand Prix, having had to miss the Spanish GP due to feeling pain in his hand and wrist, a legacy from a nasty cycling incident in 2023.

Lance Stroll surprised the Formula 1 universe by withdrawing from the Spanish Grand Prix last weekend, with rumours flying around about his absence. On Saturday, just hours after qualifying Aston Martin announced that Stroll would be missing Sunday’s race due to needing surgery to relieve his wrist/hand pain.
