As Eid al-Adha approaches, many Muslim families across west Africa are struggling to afford rams for the traditional sacrifice, with prices tripling in some areas due to inflation, insecurity, and economic policies.
Muslims from throughout Northwest Indiana gathered together on Friday to pray and celebrate Eid Al-Adha. The celebration, the first day of a three-day event, was held inside Crown Point’s Sparta Dome.
She wrote, "Sarasbaug has a Peshwa-era Ganesh temple, and the Muslim community gathers here every year after Eid and brings non-veg food, thereby defying norms which hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. Some organisations have decided to organise an event, and it will lead to religious confrontation at the garden."
