AUSTIN, Texas — Fire crews have finally contained the Crabapple fire near Fredericksburg after spending nearly a week battling the 9,858-acre blaze that sparked on Saturday afternoon.
Fire crews continue efforts Tuesday to contain the Crabapple fire, which has affected an estimated 9,858 acres, according to the city of Fredericksburg.
The Crabapple Fire, for example, got its name based on where it started: just off the 8700 block of Lower Crabapple Road in Gillespie County. The same goes for the Pauline Road Fire.
