The U.S. Open long has been regarded as the toughest test in golf. Now it returns to what is arguably the toughest course in America.

Golf fans have made the same complaint while watching the fourth and final round of the 2025 US Open. The tournament is being held at the Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, with a prize fund totalling $21,500,000 for the field of 156 players.

The National Weather Service reports that the weather in the Oakmont, Pennsylvania, area on Sunday is expected to feature rain showers in the morning and scattered showers throughout the day, with a high of around 76 degrees.

Rory McIlroy lashed out at the toughest golf course in the country Friday as Oakmont Country Club continued to bare its teeth at the 156 men competing in the 2025 U.S. Open. Though McIlroy was hardly the only golfer to be frustrated by the difficulties he faced in Western Pennsylvania, he was perhaps the most demonstrative of the bunch.

Former Ohio State golfer Maxwell Moldovan shocked everyone when he eagled the Par 4 first hole of the U.S. Open on Thursday.

The 156-golfer field will be cut down to the top 60 and ties before the third round begins, which is different than the top 70 and ties used as the cut line by the PGA Championship and British Open and top 50 and ties at The Masters.
