Joe Gibbs Racing has responded to the massive penalty Chase Briscoe and the No. 19 team received from NASCAR after the Daytona 500. The NASCAR Cup Series team told Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports that it plans to appeal the penalty the governing body issued that led to Briscoe getting docked 100 driver points.

After a violation with the spoiler on Briscoe’s Daytona 500 car, NASCAR docked Briscoe 100 points and 10 playoff points, penalized Joe Gibbs Racing 100 team owner points and 10

The Joe Gibbs Racing No. 19 team was levied an L2-level penalty after Daytona. Team fined and hit with points penalty. Briscoe also dealt points penalty.
