GAZA, January 20, 2025 (WAFA) – Three Palestinian citizens were Monday injured when an Israeli drone "Quadcopter" dropped a bomb on civilians in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
Even before the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas was fully in place, Palestinians in the war-battered Gaza Strip began to return to the remains of the homes they had evacuated during the 15-month war.
The Rafah municipality in southern Gaza has said it is ready to carry out a gradual plan to reopen the city’s main and side roads immediately after the Israeli occupation forces withdraws from the area.
The European Union is in talks to revive a civilian mission to monitor the border crossing between Gaza and Egypt at Rafah following the announcement of the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said.

The ceasefire ushers in an initial six weeks of calm and raises hopes for the release of nearly 100 remaining hostages and an end to the devastating 15-month war. A last-minute delay by Hamas put off the truce’s start by nearly three hours, but the spokesman for Hamas’ military wing later said it is committed to the ceasefire.
