MSNBC hosts Jonathan Capehart and Ayman Mohyeldin cleared the air surrounding their positions within the network. The two hosts addressed audiences on their respective programs, acknowledging the network's significant programming changes in the past week and announcing their roles as The Weekend co-hosts.

MSNBC finalized its revamped schedule on Monday, promoting progressive anchors Jen Psaki and Symone Sanders-Townsend to primetime while booting its largely non-white weekend lineup of hosts off their namesake shows.

The network is making plans to launch a show featuring The Weekend anchors Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele and Alicia Menendez into the 7 p.m. ET slot, according to a source familiar with the matter. The show would run for two hours on Mondays and for one hour from Tuesday to Friday.

MSNBC is set to drop Joy Reid's "The ReidOut," which will air its final show on the network this week, TheWrap has learned. The cancellation is part of Rebecca Kutler's vision for the network moving forward.

Ms. Reid’s 7 p.m. program will be replaced by a panel show co-hosted by Symone Sanders Townsend, Alicia Menendez and Michael Steele.

Kutler replaced Rashida Jones as the network’s chief last month. She joined the network in 2022 after being hand-selected by Jones and was part of the team that oversaw the development of “Inside with Jen Psaki” and “The Weekend” — the latter of which has seen an ratings increase of 35% since it launched in January 2024.
