Camp Bragg became Fort Bragg in 1922, and a century later, became Fort Liberty after Congress passed an act in 2021 that ordered the Department of Defense to remove all names, symbols, displays, monuments and paraphernalia that honored anyone affiliated with the Confederate States of America.
