A man suspected of driving his car into a crowd on a sidewalk in Los Angeles, injuring 36 people, has a criminal history that includes a conviction for felony battery, officials said Sunday.

NORTHRIDGE — Los Angeles Police Department officers responding to a call of a man with a gun outside a Northridge business shot at a suspect Sunday, prompting an investigation. The original call was received about 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the 9200 block of Corbin Avenue, south of Plummer Street, LAPD Officer Tony Im told City News Service.
