LG has recalled \electric ranges that have been involved in at least 28 fires and eight burn injuries, with five fires causing property damage of more than $340,000 and three fires resulting in pet deaths.

The front-mounted knobs on the recalled electric ranges can be accidentally activated, according to the CPSC. The affected models were sold at Best Buy, Costco, and other appliance stores over the past 10 years,

LG has recalled 500,000 electric stove ranges that have been linked to 28 fires that caused injuries and pet deaths, according to a report released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday.

Knobs on ranges can be unintentionally activated, an issue that has proved a hazard with other brands, safety agency says.

(Gray News) – LG is recalling 500,000 electric ranges involved in more than two dozen house fires, killed at least three pets and caused several injuries. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said it received nearly 90 reports of people and pets accidentally turning on the front knobs of the LG Slide-in Ranges and Freestanding Ranges.

The ranges were sold at major retailers nationwide, including Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and online at LG.com, between 2015 and January 2025.

Frequent food recalls are an unfortunate reality, and the same goes for appliance recalls too. Half a million LG oven ranges are being recalled.
