INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana men’s basketball entered Thursday afternoon’s Big Ten tournament game against Oregon firmly on the NCAA tournament bubble. The No. 9-seed Hoosiers (19-13) left Gainbridge Fieldhouse with a missed opportunity to help their cause, falling 72-59 to the Ducks (24-8) in Indianapolis.

The Indiana Hoosiers' loss in the Big Ten Tournament puts them in a precarious position with Selection Sunday just around the corner.

Indiana came into the day ranked No. 52 in the NET Rankings with a 4-12 record against Quad 1 opponents (three of those wins came on the road) and no losses against Quad 2-4 teams. They finished .500 in conference play after closing out the regular season with five wins in their last seven games.

After a 72-59 loss to Oregon in the Big Ten Tournament Thursday in Indianapolis, the Hoosiers' NCAA Tournament chances hang in the balance. Going into the Oregon game, Indiana was listed as one of the last four teams in the NCAA Tournament in Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology from early Thursday morning.
