New York Governor Kathy Hochul and her acting counterpart in New Jersey said they were declaring states of emergency for areas facing the threat of extreme flash floods forecast on Thursday for much of the Eastern Seaboard.

State Area are under a flood watch Thursday, and officials are warning residents to be careful and pay attention to conditions.Acting Gov. Tahesha Way declared that the state will enter a State of Emergency effective at 2 p.

Strong storms dumped heavy rain across parts of the Philadelphia area early Thursday afternoon. A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect through 6:30 p.m. with more rain and storms on the way.
