Rookie Shedeur Sanders will play for the Cleveland Browns in their preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers on Friday night with the recently-signed Tyler Huntley.

Shedeur Sanders will start in his first NFL game on Friday. The former Colorado standout, and son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, will start under center for the Cleveland Browns in the team’s first preseason game of the year against the Carolina Panthers.

Cleveland Browns fans may have to wait until Week 2 of the preseason to see rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel in game action.

The Carolina Panthers just signed Jaycee Horn to a $100 million extension, partly because he changed things up and was able to stay healthy for most of the season, missing only the final two relatively meaningless games. To lose him before even one game on said extension would be brutal.

The Browns are going to hold a few players out of practice against the Panthers. Linebacker Mohamoud Diabate, running back Pierre Strong Jr., and offensive guard Zak Zinter will not participate in Wednesday's practice. Cornerback Greg Newsome II and defensive lineman Sam Kamara will be limited for the Browns.
