Four men face federal charges on suspicion of leading a human smuggling operation that brought more than 20,000 illegal migrants into the United States from Guatemala since 2019, including seven who were killed in a car crash in Oklahoma in 2023,

Four people accused of smuggling about 20,000 undocumented immigrants from Guatemala to the United States, including seven who died in an Oklahoma car crash in 2023, have been charged by federal authorities in Los Angeles.

Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph McNally called the criminal network "one of the largest human smuggling rings in the nation," on Monday.
