The U.S. government flew 177 Bay to Honduras on Thursday, from where they are set to be transferred on to Venezuela, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement transported 177 migrants from Guantanamo Bay to Honduras for final removal to Venezuela, according to a post on X from the agency. Most of the migrants being housed at Guantanamo Bay were Venezuelan.

The U.S. government and a Venezuelan state airline flew 177 Venezuelan migrants from Guantanamo Bay to Honduras and on to Venezuela on Thursday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Department of Homeland Security said.

The move appears to end Chevron’s work in the oil-rich country and was prompted by what President Trump said was strongman Nicolás Maduro’s failure to accept deportees.

The Trump administration canceled a license with oil giant Chevron that allowed Venezuela to export oil. This is a major blow to the Maduro regime.

Many of the migrants were being kept in a detention facility that has historically held suspected terrorists. They were flown back to Venezuela Thursday after a stop in Honduras.
