Ron DeSantis (R) said Wednesday he plans to veto a Republican-sponsored immigration bill that was passed by the Florida Legislature this week, marking the latest salvo in his feud with state GOP lawmakers.

Chicago and other cities like it — notably Denver, New York and Boston, all of which hold sanctuary city status like Chicago — are being investigated by the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling reiterated that his department cannot assist ICE, but they can communicate with the federal law enforcement agency. Meanwhile, Mayor Brandon Johnson had strong words for the mass deportations for which so many voted.
