Zack Rosenblatt with The Athletic recently predicted Darnold to land with the Colts in his complete list of quarterback predictions for every NFL team. Darnold, who will turn 28 in June, is expected to haul in a contract worth up to $40 million after an outstanding 2024 season.

The Minnesota Vikings propped Sam Darnold up and now he's set to go elsewhere with another suitor linked as an option.

Quarterback Sam Darnold is coming off his best year in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings, completing 361-of-454 passes for 4,319 yards, 35 touchdowns, 12 interceptions and a 102.5 passer rating. However, without an extension in place, he's set to hit free agency and allowed to sign with a new team starting on March 12.

Darnold, the Jets’ third-overall pick in 2018, had a renaissance in Minnesota last year under the tutelage of Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell, throwing 35 touchdowns and 12 interceptions through 17 regular-season games.

Between hoping to re-sign their own free agents and needing to fill holes elsewhere, the Vikings will have a busy next couple of weeks.
