An apparent breakthrough in the nearly month-long strike at Providence hospitals was reached Tuesday night as both Providence officials and the Oregon Nurses Association announced a tentative deal at all eight locations affected.

Nurses from seven Providence hospitals across Oregon, including Providence Seaside, have rejected a proposed labor contract with the health provider, and so the state's longest health care strike will continue.

Nurses, physicians, and providers represented by the ONA at Providence Women’s Clinic ratified their tentative agreement. Providence says they will begin to return to work on Thursday, February 6. Hospitalists at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center continue to negotiate. They remain on strike.
