Another protest against federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids ended with arrests in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday. Protesters returned to the federal immigration courts for a second night of demonstrations in solidarity with the protests in Los Angeles,
Nearly 100 people were detained overnight during protests around Lower Manhattan’s Foley Square against the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement policies, according to the NYPD. A total of 86 people were detained.
The group rallied near a building that houses an immigration court, which has become a flashpoint amid the arrests of migrants in courthouses.
Protests in Manhattan turned violent Tuesday as thousands rallied against recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids and in support of demonstrations in Los Angeles. Dozens of people were taken into custody and some protesters remained on city streets late Tuesday night.
