A tantrum by San Diego’s manager following the first major league ejection of star slugger Fernando Tatis Jr. fired up the Padres, who overcame a three-run deficit in the eighth inning to beat the New York Yankees 4-3 on a soggy Monday night and extend their winning streak to six.

After Fernando Tatís Jr. was tossed from the game for questioning a called strike in the top of the eighth inning (starts at 8:30 mark), Shildt expressed his frustration at the strike call and ejection of his star outfielder by storming onto the field, throwing his glasses on the grass and yelling at Johnson.

However, Shildt's show wound up inspiring San Diego and the effect was immediate. After he was ejected the Padres scored four runs with two outs in the eighth inning and shut down the Yankees in the final two frames to escape with a 4-3 win.
