Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has issued a strong stance on Alexander Isak as the Sweden star's summer transfer saga drags on. Crucially, Howe confirmed to Chronicle Live that there had still not been a formal offer from Liverpool but the player remains back in the UK.
Fabrizio Romano claims that the current likelihood of Alexander Isak to Liverpool is at 60 percent. The Italian journalist claims that the Reds are optimistic about the deal, but there remains plenty of work to be done.
A diabolical transfer window for Newcastle will get worse when they miss out on Benjamin Sesko and Yoane Wissa before signing a Liverpool player for £50m. It is difficult to recall a more disastrous summer from a Premier League club than this effort from Newcastle. But it is easy to imagine it getting worse.
