Gabriel Arias hit a go-ahead homer in the sixth inning and doubled in the ninth on a night when San Francisco celebrated new slugger Rafael Devers at every chance, and the Cleveland Guardians spoiled the fun by beating the Giants 3-2.

The Giants lost 3-2 to the Cleveland Guardians despite two hits from Rafael Devers in his debut after Sunday’s trade from Boston.

Devers struck out in his first at-bat of the night, going down swinging against Guardians right-hander Slade Cecconi. He doubled and drove in a run in his second at-bat of the night, lining a 111.4 mph drive into the right-center gap.
