The Atlanta Braves have acquired veteran right-handed starter Erick Fedde from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for cash or a player to be named later. The Braves, who announced the trade on Sunday, will also receive cash considerations in the trade. Earlier in the week, the Cardinals designated the struggling Fedde for assignment.

Fedde, 32, is 3-10 with a 5.22 ERA in 20 starts, with just 63 strikeouts and 47 walks, along with 14 homers allowed, in 101 2/3 innings.

The right-hander had been designated for assignment by St. Louis after he was torched for 26 earned runs with an 8:11 K:BB over his last 17.2 innings.
