Emergency officials in Colorado Springs are responding to a new wildfire in western Colorado Springs. The fire is located near southbound 30th Street close to the popular tourist attraction Garden of the Gods. So far it's not clear if any evacuation orders are planned as a result of the fire.

In social media posts Mayor Yemi Mobolade says the number one cause of wildfires in Colorado Springs is arson and the fire department has already responded to 183 homeless fires in just 73 days.

Two fires in the Colorado Springs area Thursday afternoon have prompted road closures. A fire near the airport has also prompted evacuations.
