The No. 1 player in the country in 2025, Underwood signed with Michigan football, a team that has a need for an exemplary starting quarterback after a moribund season at the position a year ago. The mix of talent and need makes it an intriguing situation, especially with the Wolverines having brought in a new offensive coordinator in Chip Lindsey.

The Michigan Wolverines are hoping to improve upon last season's 8-5 record with another championship season after they failed to defend their incredible run of three straight conference titles. The Wolverines will face stiff competition from teams with experienced quarterbacks in the league this year including Penn State with Drew Allar and Illinois with Luke Altmyer.
