Wednesday's Tour de France Stage 17 will get underway in Bollène on Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. ET and will be streaming on Peacock.
Tim Wellens’ Tour de France had been excellent but understated. The Belgian national champion is arguably Pogacar’s most important domestique — both a rouleur who looks after the yellow jersey on the flat, and a strong enough climber to set a punishing initial pace at the base of climbs.
The versatile Dutchman, Mathieu van der Poel, who wore the yellow jersey and won a stage during the opening week of Tour de France, has withdrawn from the race.
The International Cycling Union has objected to the presence of Johan Bruyneel, Lance Armstrong's former team manager, in staff areas of the Tour de France.
INEOS Grenadiers’ Thymen Arensman won stage 14 of the Tour de France on Saturday, riding solo for the final 37km of a brutal day in the Pyrenees. Behind him race leader Tadej Pogacar added six seconds to his lead over Jonas Vingegaard.
Serieys has outlined strong ambitions for the coming seasons, targeting success in Grand Tour stages and one-day classics such as Paris-Roubaix and Milan-San Remo. The ultimate goal is to win the Tour de France by 2030, with a French rider.
Arensman, who rides for the Ineos-Grenadiers team, posted the biggest victory of his career, while defending champion Tadej Pogačar increased his overall lead.
