The president of Sporting Lisbon has said the club will not bow down to “blackmail and insults” as he denied that star striker Viktor Gyokeres, who is of interest to Manchester United and Arsenal, will be allowed to leave the club for £59 million.

Sporting CP president Frederico Varandas has warned Viktor Gyökeres’s various suitors that the club’s leading talisman will not be available for a cut-price fee and accused the striker’s agent of trying to “blackmail” him.
