The Michigan Wolverines are hoping to improve upon last season's 8-5 record with another championship season after they failed to defend their incredible run of three straight conference titles. The Wolverines will face stiff competition from teams with experienced quarterbacks in the league this year including Penn State with Drew Allar and Illinois with Luke Altmyer.

The Detroit native and star quarterback at nearby Belleville High School walks into an ideal situation at Michigan, which fielded one of college football’s worst offenses in the country in 2024 — weighed down by a bad passing offense that saw three different quarterbacks start games.

“A couple Heismans and at least one natty,” Underwood, the nation’s top recruit out of Belleville High, said on the show. The Heisman Trophy is awarded annually to the top player in college football and "natty" is a slang term for national championship.
