This time a year ago, British observers at Queen’s Club crossed their fingers and hoped for the best as Jack Draper faced defending champion and super-talent Carlos Alcaraz in the last 16. It was an unenviable draw, to say the least.
Alcaraz, who won Queen's in 2023 and is defending Wimbledon champion, had considered missing the event after winning the French Open.
Amanda Anisimova surprised Zheng Qinwen in the Queen's Club Championships semifinals with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory, setting up a clash for her first WTA 500 title this Sunday against Tatjana Maria.
