Nvidia's midrange GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card produces only modest performance gains over its predecessor while consuming more power, just as AMD steps it up with a potent Radeon alternative.

Nvidia's RTX 5070 won't hit RTX 4090 levels of performance even with multi-frame gen, but it works well for those who have a 1440p setup.

At $549, the RTX 5070 will also come up against AMD’s new $549 Radeon RX 9070 and $599 Radeon RX 9070 XT when they launch on March 6th. If AMD manages to beat Nvidia’s RTX 5070 or come close to the $749 RTX 5070 Ti, that’s going to put a lot of much-needed pressure on Nvidia’s pricing.
