The World Health Organization said it will expand its medical services in Gaza, even after its staff residence in Deir al Balah, Gaza, was attacked three times by the Israel Defense Forces, WHO officials said Tuesday.

Israel attacked the World Health Organization’s premises in Gaza three times on Monday, the UN agency said, warning that Israel’s expanding war with Hamas was pushing the Palestinian enclave’s health system further towards collapse.

Israeli tanks pushed into southern and eastern districts of the Gazan city of Deir al-Balah for the first time, an area where Israeli sources said the military believes hostages may be held.

Israel launched an air and ground offensive into the only Gaza city that had not seen major military operations since the war began.
