A small medical transport plane crashed in northeastern Arizona and left several people dead. The Navajo Police Department said four people were on board and died in the crash. The plane caught fire Tuesday afternoon near the Chinle Airport.

The plane was landing at Chinle Municipal Airport in the Navajo Nation in Arizona to pick up a patient for a medical transfer. It was not immediately clear what had caused the crash.
