Cardiff City, fresh from a loss to third placed Burnley, will make the trip up to the Stadium of Light on Saturday (15:00 GMT) to take on fourth placed Sunderland. The Bluebirds are five points clear of the relegation zone but only hover one place above Luton Town in 22nd.

Buses will pick up from the permanent bus stops on Sunderland Enterprise Park while pick-up points from the stadium are to the north on Kier Hardie Way. Buses run every five minutes before the game from 90 minutes prior to kick-off and regularly after the game until all fans have been transported back to their cars.

For Sunderland, then, Salech’s looming trip to Wearside poses an obvious problem, even in spite of the 17 league places that separate the Black Cats and Cardiff heading into the contest. For his new, and presumably grateful, manager, however, the 23-year-old’s stunning acclimatisation to life in the EFL must feel like a vindication.
