Rep. BYRON DONALDS announced his candidacy at the tail end of Fox News’ “Hannity,” saying he wanted to lower the state’s property insurance costs and make Florida “the most business-friendly state in the country.”

Donalds, who served four years in the Florida Legislature before being elected to Congress in 2020, is running with the support of President Donald Trump. The president announced late last week that, were Donalds to campaign to succeed DeSantis, he would do so with the Trump’s endorsement.

Donalds has been a frequent Trump surrogate and was on the short list to be his vice presidential running mate last year.
