The Apple Valley council’s message is they’re still gathering information regarding the potential sale of its animal shelter to San Bernardino County.

The Ranch Fire in San Bernardino County has burned over 4,200 acres near Apple Valley, prompting evacuation orders. Firefighters are battling the wind-driven blaze, which has reached 10% containment.

The fire broke out about 1:35 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Bowen Ranch Road and Coxey Truck Road, just south of Apple Valley.

A wildfire that ignited on Tuesday afternoon, June 10, south of Apple Valley spread across 4,205 acres, threatening homes and prompting mandatory evacuations in parts of the San Bernardino County High Desert, Cal Fire said.
