Florida’s top emergency official says a judge should resist a request by environmentalists to halt an immigration detention center known as Alligator Alcatraz in the middle of the Florida Everglades because it was filed in the wrong jurisdiction.

Conservation groups sued state and federal officials over construction of the migrant detention center last month, citing the lack of environmental reviews.
