Air India plane crash investigators reportedly find the first of the "black boxes" from the Boeing 787-8 that slammed into buildings, killing all but one of the 242 people on board.

All but one of the 242 people on board the London-bound flight died when it crashed into a residential area in Ahmedabad shortly after take-off.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, packed with 242 people on board, barely cleared the rooftops of the residential neighborhood just beyond the runway in the crowded Indian metropolis of Ahmedabad.

Arjun Patolia, who recently performed his wife's last rites in Gujarat, boarded Air India flight AI-171 to reunite with his daughters. Tragically, the flight crashed shortly after takeoff.

Bhoomi Chauhan remembers being angry and frustrated. Bumper-to-bumper traffic had delayed her car journey to Ahmedabad airport - so much so that she missed her Air India flight to London Gatwick by just 10 minutes. Ms Chauhan, a business administration student who lives in Bristol with her husband, had been visiting western India for a holiday.

A nurse from Portsmouth is confirmed among the fatalities on the Boeing 787-8 aircraft which crashed less than a minute after take off.
