New Villanova basketball coach Kevin Willard had a rough exit from Maryland, as it became apparent to many before the Terrapins were eliminated in the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament that he would be leaving the program.

After Willard exited Maryland to accept the open head coaching position with Villanova, there were reports linking Oats to the Terrapins. However, Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne also refuted the notion that Oats was going anywhere, saying during an appearance on The Will Cain Show, "I could absolutely tell you there's no truth to that."

Whatever misgivings Kevin Willard may have had about coaching basketball at Maryland, Buzz Williams' arrival shows the job is still pretty enticing.
